The Mission of the Ladies of Charity of Arkansas is to improve the lives of the poor and vulnerable in the state of Arkansas through education, empowerment, and evangelization.
SERVING OVER 13 YEARS IN ARKANSAS
Who are the Ladies?
They are advocates for the vulnerable. They help to empower the poor to help themselves. They are women who are imitators of Christ and who see the face of Christ in everyone they meet.
"The confraternity of the Ladies of Charity sprang from God in order to honor our Lord Jesus Christ as the source and model of all charity." - St. Vincent de Paul
According to St. Vincent, the spirit of an association consists of those virtues which the Ladies of Charity should practice in the corporal and spiritual service of the poor as representing our Lord Jesus Christ. These virtues are humility, simplicity and charity.
(to be said at 9:00 a.m. every Monday):
Charity, Humility and Simplicity
My God, I humbly beg you to make me an instrument of your love; give me the grace of performing all my actions to help my neighbor with charity, humility and simplicity. It is my hope, Lord, that fidelity in the practice of these virtues may obtain the reward which you have promised to those who serve you in the person of the poor.
